cheetos

I was at 7-11 today and saw these "European burger flavor" Cheetos. Not even normal European burger flavor Cheetos, but "Cheetos Bike". I guess cause they are wheel shaped. Why they needed to make them wheel shaped, I have no idea. I bought them cause I wanted to know what a European burger tasted like. They were not bad. I am not much of a fan of Cheetos but they were better than normal cheese flavor Cheetos.

Speaking of Cheetos, in the US Cheetos are all about cheese, but in Korea they don't even sell cheese flavored Cheetos.

Mc Donalds

Korean McDonalds recently started serving the quarter pounder with cheese and double quarter pounder with cheese. I just had one and it tastes the same as in the US. I went there once before when they first started serving it but they were sold out. I was so pissed.

In the US McDonald's is not my favorite fast food restaurant, but since there are less food options for me here I eat McDonalds much more than I ever did in the US. The menu is about the same. Some Korea only things they have are the bulgogi burger and double bulgogi burger. The bulgogi burger is ok. The double bulgogi burger is not. They put too much sauce on it and its just a saucy sticky mess. So after trying that a few times, the Big Mac (which I had never had once in the US) became my regular meal at McDonalds till now.

meat

Sunday I ate bulgogi at the place in the photos below. It was sooo good. The place is a couple blocks from my apartment. I have no idea who the guy is on the sign.

Bennigan's

I went to Bennigan's in Seoul Thursday night. It looks just like the ones in the US. I am not sure about the menu cause it's been so long since I have eaten at Bennigans I have no idea what's on the menu at the ones in the US.

I have also been to Outback Steakhouse last October when I was visiting. It's about the same at the US. They have TGI Friday's but I have not been there.

Some American fast food restaurants I have seen here are McDonald's of course, Burger King, and KFC. I wish there was Wendy's here.

movie popcorn

Yesterday I went to Seoul and saw Robin Hood with two friends. I was happy to see popcorn at the theater. It looked the same as in the US, but after I got it and tasted it, I realized it had some kind of sweet glaze on it, not butter. It was good, but I really wanted buttery popcorn. (update- they do have buttered popcorn, you usually get a choice of which you want. The Koreans I have been to movies with seem to prefer the sweet popcorn.)

I don't go see movies very often. Seeing Robin Hood was not my idea, but I didn't object. It was just another typical movie. Somewhat interesting, but nothing special. I'll probably forget I even saw it within a couple months.
